Traditionally crafted contemporary leather goods
By utilizing many traditional tools and techniques, I am able to incorporate features into my designs that modern machines simply can’t replicate. Vintage hand tools and their modern counterparts also provide more flexibility than many machines, enabling me to blend various aesthetic styles and construction techniques. My hands-on approach also ensures a high degree of quality control and helps preserve a rich heritage of hand crafting for future generations.
There is a staggeringly wide variety of leather and the sheer amount of options can certainly be overwhelming. However, it's important to consider that the type of animal, tannage and grade of a hide are all significant to the construction and quality of a finished leather good.
Here at Full Grain Creations, you'll only find the highest grade full grain leather from premier tanneries in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, and Italy. Leather is also carefully chosen for individual products in order to achieve optimal aestheics and functionality.
My items are sewn by hand using a method called saddle stitching. This traditional style of sewing creates exponentially stronger stitches than any machine can produce. Skilled crafters, utilizing specialized tools, can employ this technique to create elegant and distinctive diagonal stitches, enhancing the beauty and longevity of a bespoke leather good.
Although hand stitching has slowly fallen by the wayside as machines and mass production dominate the market, I carry on the tradition to ensure my products are of the highest quality and to pay homage to those who came before me.
